We strongly recommend that students start with Copyediting 1: Introduction and work their way through the courses. However, we understand that students have varied levels of experience and existing skills and knowledge. If you feel that you meet the criteria listed on the relevant course page, you may be eligible to enrol directly on the Headway or Progress course. If you would like advice on which course is most relevant to you, please email our professional development manager at [email protected].
There’s no requirement to take Copyediting 3: Progress. However, completion of all three stages of the copyediting suite will prepare students well for a successful career in copyediting.
Students have access to all CIEP e-learning courses for six months from the date of enrolment. We recommend allowing at least 10–15 hours of study time to complete Copyediting 1: Introduction, and at least 20–25 hours for Copyediting 2: Headway and Copyediting 3: Progress.
Yes, all students receive a certificate upon completion of their copyediting course.
