This virtual learning course is ideal for you if you're thinking about a career in proofreading, you've been working as a proofreader for a while but without any formal training, or your job involves some proofreading and you would like to understand this part of your role better. Weekly sessions will take place from midday to 2.30pm (BST).
This is the virtual learning version of Proofreading 1: Introduction, the first in the CIEP's suite of core proofreading courses. The course includes four webinars which all students will join on set dates and times, all of which are delivered via Zoom. Proofreading 1: Introduction is the ideal place to start if you want to learn about the fundamental skills required of a proofreader. The course explains the differences between proofreading and proof-editing, where proofreading fits into a variety of publishing processes, the types of error a proofreader is expected to spot and correct, and much more. Read below to find out more about the course and how to book your place.
