About me
I am a freelance editor with almost thirty years of experience in the educational and academic publishing industry, including seven years as an in-house editor. I am professionally trained, and offer development editing, copy-editing and proofreading services in many different areas (see below).
My in-house experience means that I understand the budgetary and time pressures involved in the different elements of book production, and can quickly anticipate, identify and resolve potential problems in the editing and proofreading process. This includes knowing when to make decisions or alert clients when alarm bells ring!
I understand the importance of good and timely communication with clients, with whom I have developed excellent working relations. I have been assigned many complicated projects with large author teams, and enjoy working with teachers, lecturers and professional writers alike.

I’ve worked with Llinos Edwards on the most recent four volumes of the Cambridge Edition of the Works of F. Scott Fitzgerald, of which I am the general editor. The volumes are A Change of Class (2016), Last Kiss (2017), The Great Gatsby: An Edition of the Manuscript (2018), and The Great Gatsby: A Variorum Edition (2019). Her editorial work has been excellent. Each of these projects was complicated, involving multiple texts, heavy annotation, textual tables, and facsimiles of original manuscripts. Llinos has met all challenges: she is accurate, attentive, and good at sensing what a book (and its readers) might need. I commend her expertise and her light but firm touch. She has saved me from several blunders and has made welcome suggestions about content, arrangement, and clarity.

Llinos has copy-edited several titles that I have written. She is by far the most competent and personable editor that I have worked with over the past 15 years. I thoroughly recommend Llinos for her dedication and ability to work to tight deadlines.
Carolyn Meggitt
Best-selling Early Years textbook author for Hodder Education (also Director, Veltom Hill Ltd)
Llinos has undertaken development work on five of my A Level Law titles while I have been responsible for the law list Hodder Education. She has been incredibly professional on every project; communicating well with authors, refining manuscripts to a very high quality and adhering to tight deadlines. For Law editing work there’s no one else I would turn to.
William Goodfellow
Commissioning Editor, Hodder Education
This was my first time publishing a book, and you set a very high bar for any future copyeditors I encounter. Thanks so much for your precise and insightful work, your clear communication, and your kindness and generosity throughout the process. I appreciate it all more than I can say.
