About
I have a BSc (Med) (Hons) degree in Medical Biochemsitry, and have successfully completed courses in proofreading and copyediting through the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP).
I have 6 years of freelance copyediting and proofreading experience. The majority of my work involves copyediting biomedical journal articles, converting complex, dense text into a clear piece that is easy to understand, all the while adhering to strict house style guides. My scientific expertise includes oncology, nephrology, genetics, immunology, psychology and psychiatry, and the biomedical sciences in general.
My career began working in-house for an educational publishing company, with a focus on their science and biology publications. Before too long I was promoted to assistant publisher. This role gave me invaluable experience in the full spectrum of the fast-paced publishing industry, from liaising with authors to checking off final proofs.
