I offer thoughtful, meticulous editing and proofreading for professors, research organizations, and publishers in Chicago, APA, AMA, MLA, or AP style.
I’ve edited and proofread hundreds of journal articles and books in addition to numerous reports, book chapters, white papers, newsletters, websites, brochures, resumes/CVs, and more.
My clients include the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Health Information Management Association, the American Marketing Association, DePaul University, Mathematica Policy Research, Milbank Memorial Fund, the University of Iowa Press, and a national medical association, among others. I’ve also worked directly with professors at DePaul University, Duke University, Georgetown University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, New York University, Rutgers University, Singapore Management University, Texas A&M University, the University of Chicago, the University of Michigan, the University of Virginia, and other institutions.
I’ve been a freelance editor and proofreader since 2003. Before that, I worked in the books division at Cambridge University Press in New York City. I have a BA in English and French from Rice University and a master’s degree in French literature from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
I have expert knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style, American Medical Association (AMA) style, American Psychological Association (APA) style, Modern Language Association (MLA) style, and Associated Press (AP) style. I have completed the Advanced Medical Editing class at the University of Chicago and courses on copyediting and book production at New York University.
I edit in a wide range of subject areas. Particular areas of interest include medicine, public health, health information management, business, the humanities, and the social sciences.
