I have extensive experience in editing fiction and trade nonfiction. My specialties are crime/thrillers/mysteries, LGBTQ+ fiction, romance, literary fiction, women's fiction, and book club fiction, and I'm experienced in copyediting, line editing, developmental editing, and proofreading. I've edited manuscripts by numerous New York Times bestsellers, a few National Book Award winners, and a Booker Prize winner, among many others.

I've also worked on numerous types of memoir and trade nonfiction, particularly business and self-help. I guide authors through the self-publishing process and offer self-publishing support and advice as a service.
I work primarily in US English; my superpower is Chicago style. I also work in UK English and have experience in Canadian English.
I love character-driven novels and thoughtful writers driven by craft, ideas, or both. I strive to meet the needs of each project individually, listening to the client and working together to find the approach best suited to the manuscript at hand. I'm also happy to work on most types of subject matter: I'm always interested in hearing what authors have to say, and I'm not easily offended. My aim is to combine relentless perfectionism with empathy, sensitivity, good humor, and support.
