About Clare

I have specialised in copy-editing and proofreading educational, training and business content since 2008.

I have worked at organisations on professional accountancy/accounting and tax qualifications and apprenticeship end-point assessments.

As a freelancer, I have worked with training providers, an exam board and leading educational publishers on GCSE, IGCSE, IAL and International Baccalaureate MFL learning materials.

I proofread the Editing Textbooks guide published by the CIEP.

As well as the above, I proofread for businesses on their marketing collateral.

I would also love to mix my experience of working on books with my interest in spirituality and sobriety/the sober life.

I trained with the Publishing Training Centre (PTC) and the CIEP. Recently I completed the Editing Digital Content (CIEP) and Essential Editorial Project Management (PTC) courses. I have a BA (Hons) in Spanish Studies.

Usually I work in Word and XML and on PDFs.

I am experienced in working on: assessments/examinations, audioscripts, candidate guides, coursebooks, flashcards, newsletters, question banks, reports, revision materials, single and multi author non-fiction books, student books, teacher/trainer resources, tone-of-voice guides, workbooks, workplace training handouts.
