About Chris

About Chris

I have a strong background in business (McKinsey), IT (consulting) and science (Cambridge U). On-screen editing in Word, pdf and LaTeX/Overleaf. Extensive ESL experience.

I have been a freelance editor for the last eight years, and a business/IT consultant for the last 30.

My core business skill areas are marketing, software, organisational design and management, project management, data science and analytics. However, through my McKinsey experience, I am familiar with most aspects of corporate life. I have built a (£6m) business and managed its trade sale.

My core science skill areas are physics and engineering.

I regularly edit scientific books and journal articles (Wiley, OUP, CUP, Sage). I also do a lot of work for non-native authors.

I have a strong personal interest in music (classical, jazz, folk), horology (clocks), photography (digital and analogue), cookery and poetry, and have edited texts in all these areas.

I work in Word, pdf markup and LaTeX.
