About Annie

I am Annie Deakins at Proofnow Proofreader. Think of me as your fairy godmother sprinkling publishing confidence.

I proofread any non-fiction and children's books; specific non-fiction areas include educational books and books on religion and faith.

After teaching in primary school classrooms for 30 years, I trained extensively with the Institute in proofreading.

I am based in Essex, UK, working remotely worldwide in UK English.

Email me to ask about my availability for proofreading at: [email protected]

Or see the Contact Me page of my website.

Services

Proofreading by checking writing at sentence level for errors, inaccuracies and inconsistencies in spelling, punctuation, grammar and context. I have much experience of proofreading PDFs using the commenting tools in Adobe Acrobat Reader. I can also use Track Changes in MS Word when I proof-edit for indie children's book authors who haven't used a copyeditor.

See more in the Proofreading page of my website.
