If you’re looking for someone who combines insights and the rigor of research in cultural anthropology with the flexible approach that fiction editing requires, then read on.
I've been supporting writers and researchers for over ten years, and I've been fully self-employed since 2019.
My approach is author-centered – I'm curious about your writing context and how your writing fits into your life and personal goals. I am careful regarding and sensitive to publishing traditions beyond Anglo-American publishing. I love building relationships with authors across languages and cultures. I call this approach Editing Otherwise.
I’ve worked with fiction authors and academics from a variety of top publishers and academic institutions.
I currently edit novels by bestselling YA fiction authors for HarperCollins and Penguin Random House, and have previously completed book edits for Macmillan, Bloomsbury and for academics at Yale University, Oxford University, University of Mainz, UCL, SOAS, and many others.
Ethnography gives me the opportunity to combine my academic and fiction developmental editing knowledge and skills, and I run workshops on these topics at universities and writers' conferences across Europe.
Please note: I do not edit assessed work.
Email me and I'll send you a detailed proposal for any developmental or line/copyediting services you require.
If you don't have a completed draft, you can also ask me about my author coaching services.
