I specialise in editing STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and maths) whether text books, books, educational material, online material, magazine articles or academic papers. I have over 11 years experience of working on GCSE and A-level educational textbooks, industry training material, academic papers and other material aimed at industry.
Prior to this worked for 12 years as an engineering project manager working with complex electronic systems in buildings and on the roads and also worked as a primary teacher. This has given me strong organisational skills and an understanding of the UK curriculum.
I am happy working in different formats and have experience of XML, HTML/CSS and LaTeX. I am skilled at working with Microsoft Word to create manuscripts that typesetters can produce clean proofs from. I can work with Word styles or tagging to do this.
